The Ironman 70.3 race series, previously known as a half ironman, consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run. It consists of a number of qualifying races including Ford Ironman California 70.3, Ironman Australia, Ford Ironman Arizona, St. Croix Ironman 70.3, Ford Ironman Coeur D'Alene, Ford Ironman Lake Placid, Ironman Germany, Ford Ironman Louisville, Ford Ironman Wisconsin, and Ford Ironman Panama City. Some 70.3 events also act as qualifiers for the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.
