Big Brother is a television series that has become quite a phenomenon all over the world. This unique show consists of placing strangers in a home together, and video recording them at all times, while they are isolated from the rest of the world. There are usually around 15 contestants and taping lasts about 3 months. You get an insiders view of everything that happens from your television set.
The contestants on Big Brother compete against each other for prizes, and they have an elimination ceremony about once a week where the contestants vote to eliminate each other. The contestants are eliminated each week until there is one left and this is the winner and takes home prizes.
There is a "diary room" that allows housemates to express their opinions to a camera, away from other housemates. The housemates are normally not allowed to have a television, or anything else from the outside world, and they have to wear microphones which allow the viewer to listen to them as well as view them.
Big Brother has been controversial over the years, and this has added to its appeal. This show has been a major success, and it is even shown in many countries around the world. Each country that airs this show has a different spin on it.
Big brother will remain to be a success on the airways for many years to come. As the times change, this is one reality show that seems to keep up.
