Bob's Burgers is the latest animated show from FOX Television. The show, which centers on the day to day life of
Bob Belcher, who runs a struggling burger restaurant with his family, is the latest creation from
Loren Bouchard. Bouchard may be best known as the co- creator of the animated series' Home Movies and Lucy: Daughter of the Devil. The show relies on dry and conversationalist humor, which has been a staple of Bouchard projects in the past. The show has done fairly well in it's time slot, which is between The Simpsons and Family Guy as part of FOX's Sunday night "Animation Domination" block of shows, and has been renewed for a second season.
Starring as the voice of
Bob Belcher is Bouchard mainstay
H. Jon Benjamin, whose voice has also starred in Home Movies and Lucy, as well Family Guy and Archer. Most of the cast is made up of former or current stand up comedians and comedy actors such as John Robert as the voice of Bob's wife Linda, and
Eugene Mirman,
Dan Mintz and
Kristen Schaal as Bob's children, Gene, Tina and Louise, respectively. Guest stars for Bob's Burgers have included Academy Award winner
Kevin Kline, Laruen and
Sarah Silverman,
David Herman (best known for his voice work on King of the Hill), and Jay Johnston
Bob's Burgers has been critically acclaimed and should be in the running for a Best Animated Season Emmy for the 2010-11 season.
