Californication is a sophisticated, witty, and adult comedy and is entering its fourth season. Californication is about an author, Hank Moody, played by David Duchovy. Moving from New York to Los Angeles because his book is acquired on the West Coast, Hank begins living the fast life of a Californian and overindulges in women, drinking and drugs. He has definite ideas about his role in life but unfortunately these concepts and excessive pride cause turmoil in his life. He is depressed because his novel has been turned into an appalling comedy.
Hank has an unstable relationship with his girlfriend, Karen, who is played by
Natascha McElhone. This couple is constantly breaking up. Hank goes to bed with Karen's fiancé’s daughter which ultimately puts him behind bars for statutory rape. The daughter blackmails him and pretends authorship of his book. Meanwhile, his teenage daughter suffers the loss of a relationship, and suffers with a broken heart. Actress,
