No matter how many years after the crime, if you find evidence that will bring a new light to the case, bring it to the Philadelphia Police Department Cold Case division and they will take it from there.
With dedicated officers like, John Stillman (Lieutenant), Lilly Rush (Sr. Detective), Scotty Valens (Sr. Detective), Nick Vera (Sr. Detective), and Will Jefferies (Sr. Detective), you can rest assured knowing they will do anything to crack and close the case for good on Cold Case.
Each episode tackles a case that, years ago when the crime happened, was investigated; but with new technology or new evidence the case is reopened and with a fresh set of eyes hopefully solved once and for all. Starting with a flashback showing the year and events of the crime, the audience is immediately pulled in to the case. Providing flash backs of the crime and interviewing people from the past, each detective re-interviews suspects and family members, often re-hatching emotions and pain. But, in the end, it is these detectives who can bring closure to cases that sat open for years.
Aired by CBS in September 2003, Cold Case has won the ASCAP award for Top TV Series 2004 - 2009 and has received many nominations as well.
Cold Case starts fresh each episode with a new case to be solved. Some character progression is displayed through Lilly Rush as she deals with her Mother's alcoholism and overall loneliness. It is clear Lilly has a hard time connecting with others on an intimate level but she will go to any lengths to close a case.
Cold Case is any easy show to get hooked on and enveloped by; don't let another season go by without joining the Philadelphia Police Department in solving another Cold Case.
