The television show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition is a real action saga. Each episode has to do with a family that really needs a house make over. The show is narrated by actor Ty Pennington who has all the good natured appeal of a spiked hair friendly and definitely out going personality. He is really good for the show because he is not intimidating or pretentious. And, since, the show is about helping families in need, those are attributes that fit rather well into the shows presentation.

The show has ten full time characters who are really home design experts and remodelers. The show chooses a family that is selected based on hardship or unfortunate events that have led to their house being in need of a make over. The television crew comes in and the Extreme Makeover Home Edition staff take over. The family is sent to vacation and the crew completely remodels their house. When the family returns, they are met with community people who are as happy and proud for their neighbor as if it were they who had the good fortune of being chosen for an Extreme Makeover Home Edition show.
