Friends is a popular TV show that ran from 1994 to 2004. It is about a group of six friends trying to make their way in New York City.

The main characters in Friends include:

Monica, played by Courtney Cox, A chef and obsessive compulsive, who is very competitive by nature.

Phoebe, played by Lisa Kudrow. An eccentric who works as a masseuse and is a self-proclaimed songwriter. Her biggest hit is a song called "Smelly Cat".

Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston. A pampered girl who runs away from a wedding and is trying to establish her independence.

Chandler, played by Matthew Perry. He is the sarcastic one of the group. He is always down on himself and is also the token office worker of the group.

Joey, played by Matt LeBlanc. An on again off again actor who dabbles at other interesting jobs. He is considered the heart throb and the token dunce.

Ross, played by David Schwimmer. A divorced dad who is ga ga over Rachel. He is also Monica's brother. He works as an archeologist and is the groups "intellectual".

The shows main locations is the apartment that is mostly inhabited by Monica and Rachel. Suspend disbelief here, since this apartment would actually fit about five New York apartments. Other main locations include Joey and Chandler’s apartment and the local coffee house, Central Perks.
