Running for 8 seasons from 1987 to 1995, Full House is one of the few shows that proved the critics wrong time and time again. Centered on a recently widowed father and his three girls, Full House was also labeled as too cheesy or campy by critics, but its brand of wholesome family values, campy humor, and positive message found a receptive audience.

Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) is a recently widowed father trying to raise his three daughters (DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle) in San Francisco. His best friend Joey (Dave Coulier) and his brother in law Jesse (John Stamos) have moved into his home to help with the girls. This remains the theme of the show over eight seasons. Other characters are added as Uncle Jesse later marries Danny’s on air co-host and has twins of his own making the already Full House even fuller. The series features standard sitcom problems with most being resolved within one episode. Full House ended after eight seasons while still being ranked in the top 25 shows currently on television. The principle actors all went on to enjoy moderate to great success after the shows close with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (both who played Michelle) having the most post Full House success with their string of children oriented movies and books.

Full House was and is a great example of the typical family oriented show of the late 80s and early 90s. Nothing is too dark or scary and there is always a happy ending.
