The Upper Eastsiders of CW's Gossip Girl are looking for love and success, but they're going to make sure they stay on top while doing it. Always there to thwart their plans is "Gossip Girl", the unknown diva of scandal that manages to uncover their deepest darkest secrets and spread them through her blog for the entire world to see, well the Upper East Side at least.
The characters of Gossip girl offer up as much variety as their designer closets. Serena van der Woodsen is the privileged party girl with skeletons in her closet and a flair for the Brooklyn boys like Dan Humphrey. Dan, thrown in the prep school mix via scholarship is a love interest for Serena but tends to be a thorn in the side for Blair. Blair Waldorf is the queen bee of the young socialites and will stop and nothing to get her way, including the love her life Chuck Bass. Even through his playboy ways and astounding arrogance, we can see that Chuck is equally in love Blair.
To make the story a little more interesting we have Nate Archibald, who is struggling to find himself after his family's public humility and loss of everything. Nate is not alone in finding himself; Vanessa Abrams is equally as confused, having once detested the Upper Eastsiders, now finding herself tangled in their sticky web. Vanessa has her good friend Jenny Humphrey to help her out though. The sister of Dan, Jenny is eccentric and dreams of being a fashion designer as she claws her way through the politics of prep school and figuring out why you do not want to land on Gossip Girl's radar.
Polishing of the cast, we have Rufus Humphrey and his high school love Lily Bass. Rufus is Dan and Jenny's father, a bit ruff around the edges his dream was to be a musician but being a family man has gotten in
The Way of those dreams. Lily, Serena's Mother, is the matriarch of the show but do not let her position in society fool you, she has her own torrid past making her a target for Gossip Girl. Who is Gossip Girl, she'll never tell, but we know she's watching.
