Ted is a Wesleyan University graduate and architect who in the beginning lives with college friends Marshall Eriksen and Lily Aldren. Eriksen, a law student, and Aldren, a kindergarten teacher, are engaged and in the course of the show get married. Ted met another of the group’s friends, Barney Stinson, in a bathroom after a night of drinks. Stinson is a devout bachelor who loves to conquer woman after woman. After Eriksen and Aldren's engagement, Ted begins his search for the one, through which he meets the group’s final character, Robin Scherbatsky. Robin is an aspiring reporter who goes through on again, off again relationships with Ted.
How I Met Your Mother begins its fifth season September 21st, 2009 amid great viewer acclaim. The previous season left off with a strong hint as to who the mother of Ted's children is, so tune in to follow the story.
