Kings was a television drama series. Roughly based on the actual Bible story of King David it aired on NBC. After several episodes though it was canceled because there was not a sufficient audience for it.
The show was set in the Kingdom of Gilboa, which was an absolute monarchy. The ruler of this kingdom was King Silas. King Silas’ actions and ideas were being rearranged by his brother in law. This brother in law held control of the kingdoms treasury.David Shepherd a Gilboan solider in a war against the Republic of Gath destroys tanks with anti-tank missiles. After being returned to the capital David, who was brought there by King Silas, is promoted to military liaison to the media. Princess Michelle, King Silas's daughter and David develop feelingd for each other.
In the pilot episode Silas has been told God doesn't support his reign over Gilboa any longer and that God has decided that David will take overfor King Silas. Silas plans to kill David but then interprets the appearance of a "crown" of butterflies as an omen he is meant to be served by David. David is later accused of being a traitor because he lied about his relationship with the kings daughter to him.
The final was in two parts Silas is show but survives and frames David for treason but David still helps him return to power. In the end, Silas declares he is now Gods enemy.
