Television shows can be assessed in the same manner as celebrities; on whether they possess a triple threat. For them it is whether they can sing, dance, and act. Sometimes, whether they produce, act, and write. Whichever, it is safe to say that the gauge is the triple threat. Television shows should be measured the same. Raising the Bar has the plot, a great cast, and brilliant producers.

Raising the Bar is a commanding legal drama that tracks the lives of young lawyers working in both the district attorney’s office and the public defender’s office. The twist is, lawyers on both sides of the cases are friends and spend time with one another after hours. The trick is how these hard hitting attorneys balance their work lives with their personal lives when they believe strongly in their cases. High stake cases tackled on Raising the Bar include, but are not limited to, child pornography, hate crimes, and drug dealing. The assertive plots are created by ten time Emmy winning producer Steven Bochco and author of “Indefensible,” David Feige, who is a supervising producer on Raising the Bar.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar plays public defender Jerry Kellerman, whose ambition is to strive for the greater good, both morally and ethically among other public defenders in his office as well as lawyers in the district attorney’s office. Gloria Reuben (Kellerman’s boss) is patient yet protective, while some of the judges (Jane Kaczmarek) that hear the cases remain arrogant and only concerned with furthering their careers.
