Since leaving one of the most successful sitcoms ever(Seinfeld), who would have thought
Julia Louis-Dreyfus would again have a hand in another successful comedy that has now surpassed five seasons on the air. The New Adventures of Old Christine has made her a household name in the world of sitcoms once again, and this time she even gets to play the lead role.
Her character is Christine Campbell, who is divorced from Richard Campbell who is played by
Clark Gregg. Richards new wife is also named Christine, played by Emily Rutherford, thus spawning her the name New Christine. Old Christine's brother Matthew, who is played by
Hamish Linklater has moved in with her and is a character that supplies some great one liners about his sisters shenanigans. Christine also has a son, Ritchie, played by
Trevor Gagnon. Some of his experiences both in and out of school have led to some funny moments for this whole crew, but one of the best characters on the show may be Old Christine's best friend Barb, who is played by the always humorous
Wanda Sykes.
What makes the The New Adventures of Old Christine such a fun show is the interaction between her, her ex, and the New Christine. Some of the scenes are priceless and it's easy to see why this show is still airing and has only gotten better since it started airing five years ago.
