LETUS35 ON ROIDS
Duration: 0:51Source: YouTube
This clip illustrates modifications to a LETUS35 for increased groundglass excursion to enable tighter objective lens apertures and higher videocamera shutter speeds. A subtitle in the clip suggests airflow interaction between the inner surface of the tube and the larger eccentric mass I have used. I was drawn to this assumption by the groundglass motion being improved when the groundglass carrier and motor were removed from the tube enclosure. Also illustrated is an added mount for 12.5mm rods which attaches to the rods with a "clamp and saddle" arrangement. this enables loosening of the mount on the rods to enable necessary small back and forth movements of the appliance during relay focus adjustments. This LETUS35 has been significantly modified and in a rough and improvised manner. These images should not be inferred as representative of the standard LETUS35 design and build quality as those attributes have been obscured by my added work which is of an inferior quality.
