Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe is making her big screen debut in the much-anticipated film 'Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.' ET’s Kevin Frazier spoke with Gabby and co-star Mo'Nique about the impact this movie will likely have on audiences. To get into the character of an abusive mother, Mo'Nique said, "We really trusted [director] Lee Daniels. Once I read the book, once I got the script and he said, 'I need you to be a monster. When I say action, you need to become a monster.'" A powerful message is communicated through the film, which follows an overweight 16-year-old girl as she is the victim of abuse and is going through her second pregnancy. By portraying this role, Gabby hopes to set an example for her teenage sisters. She told ET, "When I was growing up, I had very few people to look at who look like me to look up to and Monique of course was one of those people."
