February 17, 2008 Chase 15 Hail shaft in an approaching long track supercell in Taylor County, Georgia near Howard. Skywarn reports indicated golf ball to baseball sized hail about 3 miles to the west. Textbook supercell structure and extreme shear, along with very high upper level winds contributed to storm motion greater than 65mph and unusually rapid storm rotation. This storm produced more than 20 tornadoes and traveled 320 miles across 3 states in 7 hours.
