I just visited Cambodia for the first time and it was amazing. Our journey started off from Manila, Philippines and we had a cheap flight to Saigon, Vietnam. Stayed there for a day and then took a 12-hour bus to Siem-Reap. Spent 3 days at Siem-Reap and headed back to Saigon. Stayed another day there before flying back to Manila      The people in Cambodia are just amazing. Very warm and very courteous. Reminded me of home, actually. The food is great and you’ve got to try out the noodles being sold on the street. I love spicy food so I had mine extra hot. GREAT STUFF!      It's also great trying to learn the local language. Along with my cameras, I took a little notebook for taking down new words. The locals would light up and smile when you learn.      The trip was short and sweet. I was with friends and I can't wait to go back to both Vietnam and Cambodia, maybe spend a week at both places to really immerse myself in the culture. I'm a photographer by profession but video was the highlight of this trip. I got myself the latest Pentax K-7 DSLR and armed with a few of the best lenses, came up with something I'm very happy with. This is my very first try on video and I can't wait to improve more on my video skills. I was also happy to meet different strangers, I took their photos and they would be wonderful additions to my 100 Strangers Project. For more details on the project, check out www.100strangers.com So things I believe you've got to try at Siem-Reap are: * Ride a tuk-tuk* Rent a bicycle for a day* Try out all sorts of food* Visit temples* Talk to locals and strangers* Try to learn the local language* Visit the night market* Have some Happy Herb Pizza ;P* Try all sorts of beers* Check out Pub Street at night 'Til the next adventure! Diegohttp://diegojosephoto.com
