Starting off as a dancer in recitals and on TV, Cheryl Cole auditioned for ITV’s Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. Alongside Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Cole and the show's all girl band Girls Aloud - managed by Louis Walsh - battled it out with boy band One True Voice and won the competition. Girls Aloud's debut single Sound of the Underground reached #1 in the UK and went platinum.
Since then, Cole has made appearances on The Friday Night Project alongside Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding, Comic Relief Does The Apprentice, Gordan Ramsay’s The F-Word, and The X Factor.
