Xerez CD, Real Zaragoza, and CD Tenerife were promoted from 2008–09 Segunda División and replaced Real Betis, CD Numancia, and Recreativo de Huelva, who were relegated to the 2009–10 Segunda División. Current champion is Barcelona.
