No Ordinary Family is a television show created and run by ABC studios. It centers around a very typical family called the Powells, who live in Pacific Bay, California. During a family vacation they experience a plane crash into a strange, glowing part the Amazon river deep within the jungles of South America.

After returning home safely from the trip, the family starts to notice some extremely unusual side effects of the of their unexpected dip into the Amazon. The whole family becomes super charged with amazing new powers.

No Ordinary Family has a very strong cast. First is Michael Chiklis, known for The Fantastic Four and The Shield, who stars as Jim Powell, the police sketch artist with super strength. He is joined by Julie Benz (of Dexter and Angel fame) who plays Stephanie, mother and research scientist with super speed. Daphne, their daughter (played by Kay Panabaker), has the ability to read minds. Finally there is the youngest son JJ (played by Jimmy Bennett), who uses his ability to learn anything to solve any problem.

Together they form a super powered crime fighting family who must face problems with super powered villains and large organizations who want to learn the secrets of their power. Aside from that they must still find time to go to school and keep their jobs as well.
