This is a solid talk time show by stand-up comedienne, television host and actress,
Ellen DeGeneres. The
Ellen DeGeneres Show first aired on September 8, 2003. The show combines comedy, celebrity, musical guests, and different interest stories. A number of celebrities have appeared on the show such as Diddy, Rosie O' Donnell, and
Justin Timberlake to name a few.
For the first five seasons, The
Ellen DeGeneres show was recorded at the Studio 11 at NBC Studios in Burbank, California. The show then moved to Stage 2 on a Warner Bros. lot. The show has a lot of crowd participation and there are a number of prizes that the audience can win. Some of the different games include: Audience Charades, Audience Humdinger, Aw Snap, and Blindfolded Musical Chair. There are even special episodes in which Ellen gives a different theme to the show such as the Ellen: The Musical featuring special guests like
Jack Black,
Olivia Olson, and
Kristin Chenoweth.
Along with the special episodes, each regular episode has a different segment which includes a title that may or may not lead into a special gift for the audience. For example, Ellen's Big Stimulus Package featured a reporter from Ellen's crew going to a fan's house and letting them grab as much money as he/she can while in a giant fan. The show is really successful just under daytime viewers of The
Oprah Winfrey Show and Live With Regis and Kelly. The
Ellen DeGeneres show received 12 Daytime Emmy Awards.
