The Late Show with
David Letterman is a late night talk show on CBS hosted by
David Letterman. This incarnation of
David Letterman’s talk show premiered in August of 1993. Before that, he had his show on NBC entitled Late Night with
David Letterman.
Letterman’s slightly odd physical comedy and sense of humor give The Late Show with
David Letterman its very unique feel. There is also a powerful dynamic between the host and his band leader,
Paul Shaffer, owed to the fact they have worked together for many years. The Late Show with
David Letterman has been known for some fan favorite skits and jokes over the years, but the one nightly tradition is The Top Ten List. These Top Ten Lists are given humorous topics, and more often than not, deal with current events in some way. Adding to the comedy on the show, the star pull The Late Show with
David Letterman has is always impressive.
Fans are not the
Only Ones who have noticed The Late Show with
David Letterman. The Primetime Emmy Awards have given the host and his crew twenty-six consecutive nominations. The show itself received consecutive nominations from 1993-2009 in the Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series. The award has actually gone home with The Late Night with
David Letterman six times.
