British comedians
Matt Lucas and
David Walliams bring their wildly popular, politically insensitive sketch comedy to American in “Little Britain USA.” Not for the easily offended, the show centers on the adventures of ornery, young man (Lucas) and his kind, if slightly clueless caregiver Lou (Walliams) as they encounter various stereotypical types in gross-out comedy situations and bathroom humor.
The original “Little Britain” began as a radio program, but became a television hit in the U.K. for its absurd, often crude, take on the many different eccentrics in British culture. In 2008, HBO commissioned a six episode run for an American audience. For fans of the original series, “Little Britain USA” imports many of the comedy duo’s stock characters and adds kooky American counterparts. Guest stars like Rosie O’Donnell (“A League of Their Own”,
Paul Rudd (“I Love You Man”) and Hayden Pantierre (“Heroes”) provide familiar faces for the U.S. audience.
