The Amazing Race is a reality TV show that sends 11 two-person teams in a race around the world as they compete for a million dollar prize. Along the way, teams not only learn about the different cultures and countries through which they pass, but also about each other's strengths and weaknesses.
During past seasons of The Amazing Race, dating couples have strengthened or broken their relationships, friendships have grown stronger, and siblings, parents, and children have come to view each other, their relationships — and the world — with new eyes.
Not for the weak, The Amazing Race is challenging both physically and emotionally. During each leg, teams participate in a variety of competitions, trying to complete tasks quickly and be the first to arrive at a Pit Stop. Being the last to arrive may mean elimination from the race or severe penalties for the next leg. And while sometimes various teams form alliances, back-stabbing, name-calling, and dirty tricks abound. Through it all, host Phil Keoghan keeps his cool.
